Only 43% of Americans believe religion is an important part of their identity

The American Household Survey, published in 2018, provides a new perspective on many aspects of American life. They intertwine things such as attitudes toward marriage and politics with changing religious conceptualizations that have transformed in recent years. The primary important finding of the survey was that Americans have changed the way they find. People are more inclined to consider their parents and spouses before any other identifiers (including religious beliefs). But, not the only sign that religious beliefs are weakening in the daily influence.

According to the report, only 43% consider their religious identity is an important part of their role as human beings. This is more important than race and political parties. Except for blacks, 45% of respondents said their ethnic identity important, while 9% and 16% of white and Hispanic families.

For those who regard religion is an important phase of their lives. Roman Catholics and Protestants may further say their religion is important to them. This suggests that the two main forms of Christianity, the most common religions in the country. Consider their religion to be an important part of their identity, not a sect (first) than another sect.

Another interesting result of this study is that religious people understand religion is an important part of their lives. They stare at the sequence of life stages. The study asked people to classify milestones of this relationship in the order of preferred events. Such as gender, coexistence, marriage, and children. The results for religious people show they accept marriage should be the first thing that happens in their relationship. Even before cohabitation and before sex.

But, the actual results of the survey show that often not something that happens. In fact, in most cases, people make love before any other steps before marriage and often cohabit before marriage. They perceive this even where people who assume they are very pious compared to ordinary people.

The ultimate important conclusion of religion is that 40% accept religious communities are the key to enriching life. The same last year’s figures show believers who still keep religion has a strong, positive impact on their lives.
